Get Support

Your journey, from cancer diagnosis through to treatment, management and recovery can be a daunting and overwhelming experience. It is important that you identify and create necessary support networks to help you maintain a positive approach.

Support networks are provided for both men and women who have been affected by prostate cancer (directly or indirectly), designed to connect prostate cancer patients with peers going through a similar experience; to raise awareness of prostate cancer within the community; and to provide information from guest speakers ranging from fellow cancer patients to doctors, physiotherapists and exercise physiologists on alternative methods to help manage prostate cancer.

Support systems are founded on the principle of mutual respect and shared understanding of the cancer journey for people with prostate cancer, and can help support you by:

  • Making you feel like part of a family.
  • Allow you to talk through your journey with other people who understand how you feel.
  • Provides you with encouragement, optimism and inspiration.
  • Provides you with an opportunity to ask questions and voice your concerns with people who have gone through a similar journey to you.
